The school is organised into four Year Groups. Pupils aged 9+ enter the school in Year 5 and 6 (Key Stage 2) and will remain with us until Years 7 and 8 (Key Stage 3) transferring at 13+ to your
choice of local upper school. We strive to forge good relationships with our feeder schools with regular liaison between colleagues from both lower and upper schools. Where possible in Year 5, pupils generally stay with their Form Teacher for much of the time, with subjects such as PE, Music, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Art and
Technology being taught by specialist teachers.
In Year 6, teaching remains largely class-based with similar specialist teaching in PE, Music, Science, French, Art and Technology, leading to full specialist teaching in Years 7 and 8. The form
groups throughout the school are, as in most lower schools, a broad mixture of ability. We do, however, set by ability throughout the school for English and Maths.
"What I like about Brewers Hill is
that sometimes the work is quite
challenging and it makes you really
listen. What I am proud of at
Brewers Hill is that it is a really
nice and friendly school. I am
also proud of all the team work
that all of the children do."
