GEOGRAPHY
Geography is an exciting and challenging
subject, the study of which offers pupils the
opportunity to develop their understanding
of the world around them and, in particular, the
interaction between people, places and
the environment.
Pupils study a range of geographical ‘themes’, such as
rivers, and focus on a variety of locations.
Within the context of these and other subject
units, pupils are able to develop their
geographical skills, their knowledge of current
and local issues and a sense of identity. We
seek to foster a concern for the conservation of
the natural environment and develop a respect
for people from other cultures and communities.
Learning activities in Geography are wideranging
and involve investigations, enquiries,
projects, displays and presentations, whilst
current resources incorporate aerial photographs,
ordnance survey maps, databases, CD ROMs and
a computer linked automatic weather station.
