PASTORAL CARE
Rewards
We encourage all pupils to do their best in all that
they do and they can be rewarded for their efforts
in a number of ways:
• House Points (leading to bronze, silver, gold and platinum certificates)
• Headteacher’s Awards for those who make a special contribution to the life of the school, or who produce work of an outstanding nature
• Student of the Week awarded by each Form Teacher
• Attendance Awards for classes and individuals
Caring for our pupils
Brewers Hill Middle School spans Key Stages
2 and 3, embracing the best of primary and secondary practice. Each pupil soon comes to
know and is known well by several teachers.
The work and welfare of pupils is the
responsibility of their Form Teacher and it is hoped that pupils will always feel that they can
turn to that teacher for help and guidance.
However, all staff, including the Deputy Head
and Headteacher are easily accessible to
both pupils and parents. Parents are actively
encouraged to contact us as soon as possible,
if there are any problems or difficulties with
which we may be able to help.
"Pastoral care for pupils is good".

Keeping In Touch
Consultation evenings are normally held twice
a year. The first meeting takes place in the
Autumn Term and is primarily an opportunity
to meet with parents or carers and establish a
working partnership between home and school.
Individual pupil progress in all subjects is
carefully monitored by ongoing assessment
and formal testing. Written reports on work and
progress are sent to parents during the Spring
Term and a consultation evening is arranged
to follow the issue of the reports. However,
if we have particular concerns at any other
time, we will contact parents to seek an early
appointment.
